Exploring Diabetes & Depression: Waltham Forest Diabetes UK Peer Group – Next Session Tuesday 13th May

Are you living with Type 2 diabetes or pre-diabetes in Waltham Forest? Do you care for someone who is? If so, the Waltham Forest Diabetes UK Peer Group is here for you.

Our friendly, welcoming group meets monthly to share experiences, learn new ways to manage diabetes, and get inspired by guest speakers from the health and community sectors.

Each session is different, offering practical advice on topics such as nutrition, exercise, and emotional well-being. And our next one is especially important.

🗓️ Next Meeting: Tuesday 13th May

🕕 Time: 6.00pm–7.30pm

📍 Location: The Firs Medical Centre, 26 Stephenson Road, Walthamstow, E17 7JT

This Month's Topic: Diabetes & Depression

We’re delighted to welcome a therapist from Talking Therapies to help us explore the important and often overlooked connection between diabetes and depression.

Living with a long-term condition can take its toll on your mental health, and this session aims to support you in understanding the signs, finding helpful strategies, and asking questions in a relaxed and open environment. A Q&A will follow the talk to ensure you get the support you need.

Meet Us Beforehand

If you're unfamiliar with the venue or just fancy walking together, Roisin will be outside the True Craft pub (18-20 St James Street, E17 7PF) by the bus stop from 5.45pm, ready to walk down to the Firs Medical Centre with anyone who’d like to join.

Why Join?

  • Hear from expert speakers

  • Find out about local services and support

  • No need to book, and limited free parking is available
