We are overjoyed to share that The Snug Community Mental Health Hub has been named Health and Wellbeing Champion of the Year at the 2025 Pride of Waltham Forest awards!
The ceremony, held on Tuesday 16 September at the Council Chamber in Waltham Forest Town Hall and hosted by Cllr Grace Williams, celebrated eleven incredible individuals and organisations making a real difference in our community.
At The Snug, we provide a welcoming, non-judgmental space at Greenleaf Road where people can connect, share their mental health experiences, and take part in activities that support wellbeing and independence.
Our mission has always been to combat loneliness, foster connection, and create a safe environment where everyone feels understood.
Winning this award is not just a recognition of the work we do—it’s a tribute to every member, volunteer, and supporter who has helped make The Snug the warm, supportive community it is today. We’re so proud to be part of a borough that values health, wellbeing, and the power of connection.
Laura-Mai Edwards, a dedicated volunteer who leads mindfulness and gentle movement sessions, said:
"Volunteering at The Snug has shown the incredible power of community in supporting mental health. Winning Health and Wellbeing Champion of the Year is a wonderful recognition of everyone’s dedication to creating a safe, welcoming space where people can connect, heal, and find hope."
Thank you to the Pride of Waltham Forest awards for this incredible honour, and to everyone who continues to support our work. Here’s to more shared experiences, friendship, and community in the years ahead!
